My photography explores the worlds created within interior spaces, experienced through architecture, artefacts and atmosphere.

I’m interested in how the physical and visible elements of a space: light, shadow, texture, structure and design detail, invite the imagination to participate in the experience and perception of atmosphere.

While my commercial photography focuses on a design led approach, documenting the built environment, usually in colour, my independent projects centre on the experience of space and consider the evocative nature of space.

Each series of photographs offer glimpses into interiors, presenting vignettes that retain a sense of ambiguity and mystery, much like the fading memory of a building. Through this work, I create a new experience of atmosphere, drawing attention to the subjective nature of interpretation and the way perception shapes our connection to the spaces we inhabit.

At the heart of my work is a dialogue between the visual language of a space and the emotions it evokes in the creation of atmosphere. An exploration of how photography can transform our perception of atmosphere and place.
